How to Design FCT Test Fixtures and Their Inspection Standards
2024-08-22 16:56
FCT test fixtures are primarily used for functional testing of products, including both semi-finished and finished products. To ensure rapid testing and accurate test data, it is essential to understand the inspection standards for FCT test fixtures. Below, we will delve into these details together.

FCT Test Fixture Inspection Standards:
1. Using the same known-good product without repositioning, repeat the test 10 times to verify the stability of the test fixture.
2. Using the same known-good product, repeatedly place and remove the product, and repeat the test 10 times to verify the fixture’s positioning accuracy and ease of placement.
3. Verify whether the test results output by the test fixture are correct and whether the patterns meet requirements.
4. Check the safety of operational buttons, power supplies, and pneumatic control components.
5. Inspect the stability and protective measures of the fixture, with special attention to specialized components such as external optical fibers, MIC (microphone), active card devices, adapter plate fixation modules, pressure plate needle modules, and other specialized adapter devices.
How to Design an FCT Functional Test Fixture
FCT functional test fixtures can be customized based on client requirements. Depending on the control method, they can be classified into automatic control functional testing, semi-automatic control functional testing, and manual control functional testing. So, how should the structure of an FCT functional test fixture be planned? Below, we will provide an introduction.
Structural Planning of FCT Functional Test Fixtures:
1. The positioning of the FCT functional test fixture must be accurate, connector docking should be smooth, and the internal layout must be rational. Sufficient space should be allocated for the wiring device control system, and the direction of reserved interfaces must be correct, ample, and logically arranged.
2. Button engravings should clearly indicate the purpose and function of each button and switch. Larger buttons, such as emergency stop switches, require stainless steel reinforcement, and the height of the steel should not be lower than the highest point of the switch.

3. The locks for FCT functional test fixture boxes should be equipped with luggage buckles or snap fasteners for easy part replacement and maintenance. Reserved slots and positioning areas should be provided for fiber optic/MIC/SPK/SIM card simulation inserts.
4. Based on the test board and requirements, after selecting the control method, the fixture can be designed, including carrier boards, pressure plates, connector modules, etc. Factors such as functional lifespan, operability, and aesthetics must be considered to ensure both stable, long-lasting testing and an aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly design.
5. The fixture must use a green and yellow grounding wire, with a length of 80-100 cm. One end should have an alligator clip, and the other end should feature a circular or clamp-type terminal.
This concludes our introduction to the structural planning of FCT functional test fixtures. To prevent malfunctions in the designed products, we place equal emphasis on structural planning. We hope this article provides you with a deeper understanding of FCT functional testing.
